I’m a huge fan of the How to THINK when you DRAW by Lorenzo Etherington. Right now they’re hosting a Kickstarter.com campaign for a 4th book.
The link to the Kickstarter campaign.
If you’re not familiar with the book series, they’re a collection of tutorials that diagram things to notice when drawing a wide assortment of objects and subjects. All the tutorials in the book are actually free on the Etherington Brother’s Instagram and blog. But, the way they’re organized in book form is super-clean and worth purchasing if you’re looking for good references or coffee table books.
The big issue is that the books are only available as Kickstarter rewards. I have no idea why, but for some reason, they don’t sell these things from an online store year-round. I can’t imagine the scarcity makes more money exclusively during the campaigns vs. continual retail – but oh well. But luckily, during the campaigns, there are reward tiers to purchase the older books in the series.
Below are some previews from the past books. If you’re interested, keep in mind the campaign ends on April 8.
I’m not in any way affiliated with them, just recommending them because they’re such a good resource! For more recommendations on miscellaneous things, see my Recommended page.
